The global transition toward a circular bioeconomy requires bridging advanced scientific research with scalable industrial implementation. The BESS Conference 2026 brings together leading academic researchers, industry executives, tech innovators, and policymakers under the central theme: “Emerging Trends in Sustainability.”
This flagship two-day conference serves as an interdisciplinary platform to address urgent decarbonization, waste management, and resource-security challenges. The program explores how modern analytical tools, digital frameworks, and biological innovations accelerate commercialization across critical sectors including energy, food systems, green chemistry, and carbon management.

- Biosolutions: Synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, precision fermentation, enzymatic biotransformations.
- AI Applications: Machine learning for strain optimization, predictive modeling, smart bioprocess control.
- Waste Valorization: Upcycling agro-industrial side-streams, organic residues, and municipal solid waste into high-value products.
- LCA & Carbon Accounting: Scope 1–3 greenhouse gas accounting, life cycle assessments, supply chain carbon footprinting.

The BioEnergy Society of Singapore (BESS) invites submissions for oral and poster presentations at BESS Conference 2026. Choose the format that fits your work. All submissions are reviewed by the BESS program committee.
Oral Presentation
20 min talk + 10 min Q&A
For research ready to be presented in full to a parallel-session audience, with dedicated time for discussion.
Poster Presentation
Eligible for Best Poster Award
A visual, conversational format ideal for early-stage or applied work — judged for the BESS Best Poster Award.
Submission Requirements
- Abstract text: 100–150 words covering objectives, methodology, key findings, and industrial significance.
- Speaker biography: Under 100 words, third person.
- Headshot photo: Recent, high resolution, for the speaker directory.
