Bio-energy and bio-based chemicals have come under scrutiny in view of competing use of limited land and agricultural resources for the food, energy and chemical industries, whilst trying to meet the expectations of investors.
The theme of the biannual Bioenergy and Biorefinery Conference – Southeast Asia 2016 [30 – 31 May 2016] organised by the BioEnergy Society of Singapore (BESS) is Sustainable Manufacturing for Food, Fuels and Chemicals. We invite experts in these fields to showcase their latest technologies, breakthroughs and share their challenges. This conference will bring together individuals interested to share and learn the potentials and challenges in R&D and commercialisation in the agriculture, food, biofuel and biochemical sectors. This conference aims to be a platform for forging multi-party collaborations and technology integrations.
Awards will be given to top posters selected by an expert panel. An optional Technical Tour [1 June 2016] to some major R&D centres in Singapore is also available.
Conference Topics
- Synthetic biology and metabolic engineering
- Functional foods and nutraceuticals
